#LoveFallArt – Art Journal Page – Gothic Lady (time lapse video)

This is my second video for the #LoveFallArt festival happening this weekend on YouTube!  This is organized by the Creative Arts Collaboration group and is running from September 17th to 20th.  The theme is Fall/Autumn and all you have to do is type in #LoveFallArt into the YouTube search bar to see an amazing variety of artistic and creative videos made specifically for this event.

I love art with a gothic theme.  Since we are heading into autumn and Halloween, I took this chance to make this art journal page.  I found the image of the shrouded woman in a magazine and have been waiting to use it.  I chose to do this page on a loose sheet because of its size.  The loose pages can be bound later into a book.

Thanks for watching!

Art Journal Page – Creating My Purpose (time lapse video)

Another art journal offering!  This page was completed over two days, off and on, in between cameras running out of batteries and taking care of life.  I took the time to show all of the supplies I used in the video so this one took a little longer than usual.  I found when I was learning new art journaling techniques, I appreciated the videos that showed the products used.  It was a huge help to me as I was beginning (and still learning!)  I also listed the supplies below.

Experimenting with Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate (time lapse video)

I finally broke into my Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate!  I’ve had it for a few months now and I was nervous to try it.  Like many of you, I’m sure, I watched as many YouTube videos as I could find to learn techniques on how to make prints.  Of course, I filmed my adventures for your enjoyment below.

Some prints turned out really well, others were learning experiences.  Some could be used as backgrounds for art journal pages or cut up as collage elements.  Even though some prints may not be perfect, all of them can create interest on a page.

I used inexpensive paper to make the prints.  I purchased a large pad (24″ x 18″) similar to what teachers used to use on an easel in the classroom.  I cut each page into four and it was the perfect size for the plate.  The paper was heavy enough that it wasn’t transparent but not as heavy as cardstock.  I want to use the prints in my art journals and cardstock would have too much bulk for my preference.  I used both craft acrylic paints and Golden acrylics, stamps, stencils, bubble wrap, fabric and wooden stir sticks to make marks on the plate.

gelli prints  I’ll even use the “leftover” sheet to cut up!

Art Journal Page – Believe (time lapse video)

Hello again!  I’m on vacation this week and I thought it would be great to post another video!  This spread was done in my Moleskine watercolour journal and took about 38 minutes to complete.  I began with a layer of gesso and then glued some music sheet paper and patterned scrapbook paper down.  In the end you can’t see the scrapbook paper through the paint, but that’s ok.  It still gave a little texture on the page.  A complete list of supplies is listed below.
