Week 4 of Journal52 is “Silhouettes”. I loved this prompt! I have to admit though that this page started out completely differently and ended in disaster. Thank goodness for gesso! That disaster is hiding underneath these layers….like it never happened! At least it created some texture!
I started this page by stamping a script background stamp on white tissue paper. I crumpled up the tissue paper before I glued it down onto the page with Golden Soft Gel (Matte) medium. This made some nice wrinkles on the page. Next came paint splatters (one of my favourite things to do).
I cut out the flowers in black cardstock using Tim Holtz’s Alterations “Tattered Florals” die cut and glued them on with Golden Soft Gel (Matte) medium. I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock and glued that on with Aleene’s Tacky glue.
The final touches were to outline the sentiment with black and the flowers with white. I added pink Stickles in the middle of the flowers for a little sparkle and put the black border around the page.
This was a great prompt and you could come up with so many ideas! Even after my initial disaster (which is why it took me so long to get this one finished) I’m happy with the results.
Thanks for having a look and please share or leave a comment below. Would love to hear from you!
